Retired Navy Captain and Local Business Owner Doug Roulstone Announces for State Senate 44th District
Retired Navy Captain, former 44th District Legislator and small business owner Doug Roulstone is pleased to announce his candidacy to challenge Steve Hobbs in the 44th State Senate District.
“We need principled, level-headed leaders in Olympia to represent the hard-working taxpayers of the 44th Legislative District,” commented Captain Roulstone. “I will go to Olympia to defend our hard-working taxpayers from abusive government.”
“Steve Hobbs has changed,” continued Roulstone. “The values that he said he was going to fight for when he got to Olympia are not the values he fights for now. Hobbs has stuck us with a billion-dollar property tax bill. He has allowed an out-of-control Sound Transit to defraud us in car tabs. He has left us stuck in grinding traffic on our roads. He has thumbed his nose at the public’s right to know what is going on in our government and he supports tolling the US 2 trestle.”
Captain Roulstone has served our country and the Snohomish County community almost his entire adult life. First as a naval officer for over 27 years on active duty in war and peace. Later helping prevent the closure of Naval Station Everett and developing award-winning technical education programs in our schools.
